Access to Safe Drinking Water for Rural Communities
Under the project ‘Access to Safe Drinking Water for Rural Communities’, Gram Vikas provided safe drinking water to 178 families in three villages of Kalahandi district in Odisha. Support from Frank Water helped to expedite the completion of water infrastructure in these villages, which were not in the approved list of government.
The project aimed to provide access to clean drinking water to three tribal-dominated villages.

- Established water infrastructure such as intake, solar and gravity-fed water pumping systems
- 178 families got access to clean water at home
- Women and girls could bathe and defecate in the safety of bathrooms and toilets at home
- Girl children were freed from the task of water collection and had more time to focus on their studies
