Babita Bhuyan is the president of the local self-help group in her village in Koinpur in Gajapati district of Odisha. Until the lockdown came into effect, the SHG made Ragi Laddus for children from tribal communities attending school in Koinpur. When the COVID-19 pandemic breakout, the village had a shortage of masks, as local markets closed. Babita saw an opportunity and started making masks. She distributes them to the local shops in her village. Babita feels content that she could help people in her village. She also hopes that the situation normalises soon.
