“If we women can do so much together, we can also make a Sarkar for the people.” Pramila Bisoi won with 55% of votes from Aska constituency, in Odisha, in the 2019 Indian elections. A resounding victory. She has been leading Gram Vikas' work for over two decades now and setting the agendas right. In a moving testimony to her courage and leadership, Gram Vikas Executive Director, Liby Johnson says, " ...Pramila Bisoi is a fighter. She led her village women to protect the forests around her village. She has mobilised women in her village, the district and around the State to form self-help groups. She played the lead role in making her village truly Open-Defecation Free in 2002 (ages before Swachh Bharat Mission was even thought of)...She continues to be a trailblazer..."
