Water Secure Initiative
The "Water Secure Initiative" project adopts a holistic approach to addressing water and natural resources, including social, economic, institutional, and technical aspects. The initiative will bring together all households in the habitations within a Gram Panchayat to manage water and natural resources and strengthen local governance systems to enable water security. It will enhance women's leadership and youth and children's participation in decision-making roles in village-level governance and water security.
The project aims to build village-level water and sanitation infrastructure and enable women’s leadership capacities in socio-economic aspects to manage sustainable conservation of natural resources and enhance livelihood.

- Prepare and develop convergence mechanisms for Village Action Plans and convergence with Gram Panchayat Development Plans

RESULTS
- An advanced piped water supply system was established in 3 habitations, providing safe drinking water to 137 households.
- Three ponds were renovated, and estimates were prepared for the renovation of 2 additional ponds.
- Land development was completed on 25 acres, and plantation activities were carried out on 60 acres across 4 villages in collaboration with the Panchayat and Forest Department.
- A total of 3,550 saplings were planted across 6 villages, along with a community-led maintenance system for long-term care.
- An animal trench covering 1.5 – 2 acres was constructed in Krushnanagar Ambapadia to protect agroforestry areas from elephant disturbances.
- Plantation and seed-ball activities were organised on World Environment Day with participation from Wipro volunteers.
- Thirty community members participated in the Spirit of Wipro Run 2025, while SHGs organised stalls and cultural performances.
- A pre-monsoon survey of 45 water sources was conducted across 6 villages, followed by aquifer mapping and water-level monitoring.
- Community-level water quality testing was conducted in all 6 villages, and corrective actions were initiated for contaminated sources.
- VPRPs were integrated into GPDPs to align community priorities with government planning frameworks.
- WASH and nutrition awareness sessions were conducted for adolescents and women in 3 villages.
- Bal Sabha and Bal Sansad training sessions on sanitation and waste management were organised for children and adolescents.
